In July 2025, the three most efficient ASIC miner models in terms of equipment cost, Bitcoin (BTC) production, and expenses were from Bitmain, according to mining data center operator Intelion. Experts compared 14 latest-generation devices.

The calculations were based on monthly averages: electricity price — $0.071 per kWh, BTC price — $107,893.

The test results showed that all devices (nine models from Bitmain’s 21 series and five models from MicroBT’s 60/61/50 series) had positive profitability in July, ranging from 1.48% to 5.8% per month, or from 18.03% to 69.6% annually.

Profitability leaders:

  • Bitmain Antminer S21+ 235 TH/s — 5.8% per month / 69.6% annually;

  • Bitmain Antminer S21+ 225 TH/s — 5.7% per month / 68.4% annually;

  • Bitmain Antminer S21+ 216 TH/s — 5.5% per month / 66.4% annually.

The highest gross profit came from the Bitmain Antminer S21 XP 270 TH/s, which mined 0.00409383 BTC in July (about 39,000 RUB). However, its high cost (over 0.5 million RUB) reduced its profitability to 4.2% per month / 53% annually, keeping it out of the top three.

Performance change compared to June
In June, the top two positions were also held by Bitmain devices: S21+ 235 TH/s (3.93% / 47.21%) and S21+ 225 TH/s (3.88% / 46.53%). The third spot was taken by the MicroBT Whatsminer M60S+ 210 TH/s (3.82% / 45.89%), which did not make it into the July ranking.

Last month saw an increase in profitability and BTC production compared to June. This was due to the rise in the Bitcoin exchange rate in July while network difficulty remained high, which helped offset some margin pressure.

Bitcoin mining difficulty in July rose by 9.11%: at the beginning of the month, it was 116.96 T, and by the end — 127.62 T, according to Cloverpool. Such difficulty growth usually lowers mining profitability, but the BTC price increase offset costs and boosted returns.
