Cryptocurrency Bitcoin Today: Stable Above $66K Amid Iran Conflict

Bitcoin traded almost unchanged on Friday and was set to close the week with minimal fluctuations as investors assessed conflicting signals regarding the US-Iran conflict while awaiting key US labor market data to be released later that day.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency traded flat at $66,654.7 by 06:19 GMT.

Bitcoin was set to close the week almost unchanged.

Trading volumes remained subdued as many global markets were closed for the Good Friday holiday, limiting participation in digital asset trading.

Investors Watch Iran War and US Employment Data

Bitcoin briefly rose to $68,000 earlier this week amid signs of easing tension in the Middle East, but the rally faded after US President Donald Trump took a more aggressive stance towards Iran.

The latest escalation in rhetoric, including threats to strike infrastructure such as bridges and power plants, weighed on broader risk appetite.

Meanwhile, macroeconomic uncertainty also led traders to exercise caution ahead of the US non-farm payrolls report, which could impact expectations regarding the Federal Reserve’s policy and broader liquidity conditions.

Despite the recent volatility, Bitcoin showed resilience, recovering from earlier sharp drops driven by the conflict. However, it remains well below its 2025 peak of over $126,000, highlighting broader cooling in cryptocurrency markets this year.

Altcoins Remain Flat

Most altcoins also traded flat on Friday amid cautious sentiment.

The second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, gained 0.4% to $2,058.92, while XRP rose 0.2% to $1.32.

Solana traded flat, while Cardano and Polygon both gained 2% each.

Among meme tokens, Dogecoin rose 1%.
