Hyperliquid Token Surges 50% in a Week and Hits a Record High
The native token of the decentralised perpetual futures exchange Hyperliquid has surged more than 50% over the past week amid growing institutional interest. Strong demand for the asset in the United States has been compared to the performance of Bitcoin.
HYPE Reaches a New All-Time High
On 21 May, the price of Hyperliquid reached a new all-time high, surpassing $62 per token.
The token gained more than 50% over seven days, while since the beginning of 2026 the asset has risen by more than 130%, making it one of the fastest-growing cryptocurrencies on the market.
The rally coincided with record capital inflows into spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to Hyperliquid, as well as growing demand from major investors.
“Institutions are allocating capital into HYPE ETFs faster than into Bitcoin ETFs when adjusted for market capitalisation,” Peter Chung, Head of Research at Presto Research, told The Block.
HYPE Overtakes Solana by Fully Diluted Value
Amid the price rally, Hyperliquid slightly overtook Solana in terms of fully diluted value (FDV), which measures the total value of all issued tokens.
HYPE’s FDV reached $55 billion, compared with $54 billion for Solana.
According to CoinMarketCap rankings, Hyperliquid has held the 10th position among the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation for nearly a year, while Solana ranks seventh.
