Kraken launches a platform for trading tokenized Apple and Nvidia shares
Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has launched the xChange on-chain platform for trading xStocks tokenized assets from the Backed project.
The service operates on the Ethereum and Solana networks in 24/5 mode. Users have access to more than 70 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, including securities from Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, as well as a fund tracking the S&P 500 index.
xChange aggregates liquidity from multiple blockchains. This narrows spreads and improves pricing compared to standard DeFi pools. Asset prices are pegged to traditional stock market quotes in real time.
Trades are executed instantly on an “all-or-nothing” basis, with no partial order execution. For additional liquidity depth, developers integrated the 1inch aggregator API.
The total transaction volume involving xStocks instruments has already exceeded $25 billion since launch. According to Dune, xStocks on the Solana network account for 46% of the tokenized equities market. For comparison, the main competitor — Ondo’s platform (on Ethereum and BNB Chain) — holds 52% of the market.
