Nasdaq to invest up to $50 million in crypto exchange Gemini
Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini Space Station Inc. has secured investments of up to $50 million from Nasdaq, Reuters reports, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The investment will be made through a private placement of Gemini shares during the company’s initial public offering, according to the report.
Gemini, backed by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, is preparing to go public, although no specific timeline has been disclosed.
This deal represents a significant partnership between a traditional stock exchange operator and a crypto platform, as digital assets continue to gain recognition in the mainstream financial sector.
