Bitcoin Exceeds $122,600 for the First Time in History

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization has reached $3.81 trillion. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, also surpassed $3,000. Many altcoins are in the “green zone,” including SUI, which rose 12.5% in 24 hours to $3.84, and SOL, which climbed to $166.

Growth is fueled not only by institutional investor interest but also by a favorable regulatory environment in the US. The US House of Representatives plans to review three key bills: the CLARITY Act (market transparency), the GENIUS Act (stablecoin regulation), and a bill opposing central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

Lawmakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties, along with Donald Trump’s administration, support clearer crypto regulations. If these bills pass, they could fundamentally reshape the US crypto market, encouraging optimism among traders.

Markus Thielen, CEO of 10x Research, noted that hopes for a crypto bull rally are boosted by US plans to create a sovereign wealth fund that includes cryptocurrencies. Over the past 6–8 weeks, institutional inflows into Bitcoin ETFs totaled $15 billion. Thielen predicts Bitcoin will trade between $140,000 and $160,000 by year-end. However, there is a risk of continued Fed tightening due to import tariffs.

Meanwhile, Xapo Bank CEO Seamus Rocca is less optimistic, warning that after setting new records, Bitcoin could fall below $110,000. Bits.media recently published a detailed analysis of the crypto market's growth and future prospects.
