Cryptocurrency Bitcoin Price Today: New Record Above $118K Amid ETF Inflows

Bitcoin surged to new highs on Friday, surpassing the $118,000 mark, driven by strong institutional interest and crypto-friendly policies from U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency was up 6.1%, trading at $118,310.8 as of 08:54 Moscow time.

Bitcoin is on track to post its third consecutive week of gains.

ETF inflows surge amid rising institutional demand
Trading volumes spiked sharply, with blockchain data showing increased activity and a jump in spot trading volumes.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of $1.18 billion as of Thursday — marking the sixth consecutive day of significant growth, according to SoSoValue data.

BlackRock’s IBIT led with a $448.5 million inflow. FBTC from Fidelity and BITB from Bitwise also saw additional net inflows.

Total trading volume across 12 Bitcoin ETFs reached $6.3 billion — the highest daily volume since late May.

Institutional adoption and regulatory optimism support crypto
These developments come amid rising demand from institutional investors, who are increasingly adding Bitcoin to their treasury portfolios and ETF holdings.

Earlier this year, the Trump administration approved a strategic Bitcoin reserve, setting a favorable regulatory tone.

Additionally, Trump’s family business — Trump Media & Technology Group (NASDAQ:DJT) — recently filed for approval to launch a new "Crypto Blue Chip ETF" later this year. The company had already filed two other ETF applications earlier this month.

Looking ahead, investors are focused on “Crypto Week”, starting July 14, when U.S. lawmakers in Washington are expected to advance at least three major bills aimed at regulating digital assets.
