Bitcoin Today: Rise Above $76K Amid U.S.–Iran Talks
Bitcoin rose above the $76,000 mark during Asian trading on Tuesday, extending its recent gains amid improved risk sentiment and hopes for progress in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, which boosted appetite for speculative assets.
The world’s largest cryptocurrency was last trading 1.6% higher at $76,045.6 as of 07:10 GMT.
Traders Watch U.S.–Iran Talks Ahead of Ceasefire Deadline
Market sentiment was supported by expectations of diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran in Islamabad ahead of the approaching ceasefire deadline on Wednesday.
The rally builds on momentum from last week’s gains on Wall Street, where major stock indices advanced amid easing geopolitical tensions and strength in technology stocks.
“This pattern of gains followed by quick pullbacks has become a defining feature of recent trading, highlighting a market capable of upward momentum but struggling to sustain it when key resistance levels come into play,” analysts at IG Group said.
Bitcoin is also supported by continued institutional interest and steady inflows into digital asset investment products.
“Activity from large holders has also contributed to choppy market behavior, with whales seen accumulating during dips, helping stabilize downside moves,” IG analysts added.
Kevin Warsh Hearing and Fed Outlook in Focus
Traders are also focusing on the confirmation hearing of Kevin Warsh, nominated by President Donald Trump to lead the Federal Reserve System. The Senate hearing is being closely watched for clues on future interest rate policy.
In remarks on Monday, Warsh emphasized the importance of central bank independence but warned that the Fed should “stay in its lane,” focusing narrowly on monetary policy rather than broader economic or political objectives.
Beyond rates, traders are also watching Warsh’s stance on financial oversight, as his views on regulation and market structure could shape the long-term trajectory of digital assets in the U.S.
