BitMine Acquires $113 Million Worth of Ethereum from BitGo
BitMine Immersion has purchased nearly $113 million worth of Ethereum (ETH) from digital asset custodian BitGo. A transaction from wallet address “0xDc8…3a07f” included approximately 27,316 ETH, indicating that BitMine continues its aggressive accumulation strategy.
Although the company has not officially confirmed the deal, the data aligns with an October 27 social media post mentioning $14.2 billion in cryptocurrency and cash reserves.
BitMine is now the largest public holder of Ethereum in the world and the second-largest cryptocurrency holder overall, following Strategy, which holds over 640,000 bitcoins worth around $74 billion.
Currently, BitMine owns roughly 3.3 million ETH (over $13 billion at current prices) and plans to reach ownership of 5% of the total Ethereum supply, or 6.04 million ETH.
The company is more than halfway toward this goal, as 3.3 million ETH represent 2.8% of the total supply.
Interestingly, BitMine is also investing in smaller but promising ventures, which it calls “moon projects.”
For instance, the company has invested $88 million in Eightco Holdings to diversify its portfolio.
At the time of writing, Ethereum was trading around $4,000, having declined by nearly 2.2% over the past 24 hours.
