CEO of Metaplanet, Simon Gerovich, Reveals the Number of Bitcoins Acquired by the Company in Q1 of the Year

The Japanese public company Metaplanet continues its bitcoin accumulation strategy without slowing down. According to the statement from the company's CEO Simon Gerovich, Metaplanet acquired a total of 5,075 BTC in the first quarter of the year.

According to information published by Gerovich via X (formerly Twitter), the average cost of these purchases was 12.55 million yen (approximately 82,800 USD) per bitcoin. The company also reported that its yield from bitcoin investments since the beginning of the year amounted to 2.8 percent.

With the latest purchases, the total number of bitcoins held by Metaplanet has reached 41,777 BTC. This amount is currently valued at approximately 623.37 billion yen or around 4.13 billion USD. The average cost per acquired BTC is 15.52 million yen (approximately 102,750 USD).

Metaplanet's aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy reflects ongoing institutional investor interest in digital assets. Despite the recent increase in volatility, the company maintains confidence in bitcoin as a long-term store of value.

Experts suggest that such large-scale purchases can have a psychological impact on the market, and institutional demand continues to be a decisive factor in price dynamics. It is expected that Metaplanet will continue its strategy of similar purchases in the upcoming period.
