Cryptocurrency Cryptocurrencies Are Falling Again! Why Are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP Prices Declining? Here’s the Latest Data

Bitcoin ($BTC) and altcoins, which showed strong recovery earlier this week, are now facing a sharp decline.

Bitcoin dropped 3.2% over the past 24 hours, falling below $66,000. Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and Solana (SOL) recorded similar losses. Ethereum fell back below $2,000 to $1,380, while Solana declined to $83.

The decline is believed to be linked to growing speculation about a possible conflict between the United States and Iran. Concerns over a potential U.S.–Iran confrontation have reduced investors’ risk appetite toward Bitcoin and other risk assets.

Meanwhile, the United States has withdrawn part of its embassy staff from Israel, and China has urged its citizens to leave Iran.

Amid rising security concerns in the Middle East, the U.S. State Department authorized the departure of certain personnel and their family members from the U.S. Embassy in Israel due to security threats.

Chinese officials also advised their citizens to leave Iran. According to Anadolu Agency, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated:

“Due to the significant increase in external security threats facing Iran in recent days, many countries have issued statements urging their citizens to evacuate. In this context, considering the current security situation in Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Iran remind Chinese citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran at this time; and Chinese citizens currently in the country to strengthen safety precautions and evacuate as soon as possible.”

According to data from crypto analytics platform Coinglass, $294.8 million in leveraged positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours. Of that amount, $211.5 million were long positions and $83.3 million were short positions.

A total of 107,965 traders were liquidated within 24 hours, with the largest single liquidation occurring on the $BTC/USDT trading pair on the Bybit exchange.
