Hyperliquid token price hits new all-time high of $50
On August 27, the price of the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token reached a new all-time high of $50.99. Over the past week, the crypto asset has gained 22%, and in the last 24 hours it rose by 14%.
According to Coinglass, Hyperliquid derivatives trading volume grew by 14.57% over the past 24 hours, reaching $3.05 billion, while open interest surged nearly 17% to $2.33 billion, indicating an increase in speculative positions.
At the same time, short positions worth more than $1.76 million were liquidated, meaning traders betting against the rally were caught off guard.
The HYPE rally comes amid growing “whale” activity and record performance of the decentralized exchange linked to the Hyperliquid platform. On August 26, spot trading volume on the exchange hit a record $3.4 billion in a single day, driven mostly by Bitcoin. As a result, the platform became the world’s second-largest venue for spot trading of the flagship asset across both centralized and decentralized markets.
In August, Hyperliquid’s monthly decentralized trading volume has already surpassed $18 billion, exceeding July’s $11 billion. The total value locked on the platform reached $721 million, also marking a record high.
