Unexpected Statement from Michael Saylor: “We Will Not Buy Bitcoin This Week”

Strategy Inc. chairman Michael Saylor announced that the company is temporarily pausing its long-standing weekly Bitcoin acquisition strategy.

In a brief social media statement, Saylor said: “No purchases this week. We’ll be back next week,” indicating that the pause is only temporary.

According to publicly available data, Strategy currently holds approximately 818,334 BTC. The total value of these assets is around $61.81 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,537.

At current market prices, the company’s Bitcoin reserves are valued at approximately $64.42 billion, implying an unrealized gain of about 4.21%, or more than $2.6 billion.

Aggressive Accumulation Strategy in April

The company’s recent buying activity has been particularly notable:

  • April 27 — 3,273 BTC
  • April 20 — 34,164 BTC
  • April 13 — 13,927 BTC

Following these purchases, total holdings increased steadily to over 818,000 BTC.

Company Performance vs. Market

Strategy’s performance has been strong compared to the broader market:

  • Strategy shares gained 16.6%
  • Bitcoin price declined by approximately 11% over the same period

This suggests that the company continues to outperform even amid broader crypto market volatility.
