Bitmain Begins Selling S19k Pro Miners at a Starting Price of $5.5 per TH/s Amid Market Downturn

Bitmain has launched a public auction for its Antminer S19k Pro units with a starting price of $5.5 per TH/s, as the company seeks to clear inventory in a challenging market for bitcoin mining hardware.

In an announcement on X, the manufacturer invited buyers to “name their price” for two S19k Pro configurations:
• a 120 TH/s model with energy efficiency of 23 J/TH,
• and a 136 TH/s model rated at 27 J/TH.

The auction opened on November 18 and will conclude on November 24, with the final price to be announced on November 27. Shipments are expected in December after buyers pay the remaining balance.

The auction features equipment that is no longer considered top-tier in terms of efficiency, falling well behind Bitmain’s S21 line and competing devices released this year. The unusually low starting price signals broader challenges for manufacturers facing slowing demand following bitcoin’s recent correction and the cooling pace of mining expansion.

Selling batches of likely used machines through an open auction is one of the clearest signs that Bitmain is taking more aggressive measures to clear its warehouses. In recent quarters, the company has seen reduced customer interest in both next-generation miners and refurbished units, as mining firms delay capital expenditures and adjust to a compressed hash rate environment.

The Bitmain auction will run for one week, with shipments scheduled for December 2025.

Bitcoin Miners’ Revenues Fell 9.44% After Sharp Mining Difficulty Increase

After the hashprice metric approached the $40 per petahash per second (PH/s) mark, the latest decline in Bitcoin’s price caused hashprice to fall, reducing mining profitability since May 14. The following day, the situation worsened further due to a difficulty adjustment, which increased mining difficulty by 3.12% compared to the previous epoch.
