Amina Bank Obtains European License to Offer Crypto Services

Amina Bank CEO Franz Bergmueller announced that the new license will allow the bank to provide staking and custody services, crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchanges, and portfolio management to European Union residents.

These services will be available to professional investors, including family offices, financial institutions, and other legal entities in Austria and across the EU.

Currently, Amina Bank operates in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi. The bank’s new Austrian branch is also registered in 13 additional European countries.
Bergmueller explained that Austria was chosen for its clear regulatory framework governing digital assets and its strong investor protection policies.

“Obtaining a license from the Austrian regulator proves that Amina Group is committed to meeting strict regulatory standards and addressing the growing global demand for crypto services,” Bergmueller stated.

Eckehard Stolz, Managing Director of Amina EU, added that professional investors in Europe are seeking secure access to cryptocurrencies. The bank is ready to provide an infrastructure that bridges traditional finance and digital assets, he assured.

Earlier, Spain’s Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) launched Bitcoin and Ethereum trading and custody services for retail clients. In October, Citi also announced plans to launch a crypto custody service, which has been in development for about three years.
