Investments in Nvidia Shares Earn U.S. Congresswoman 91 Years’ Salary

U.S. Congress member Nancy Pelosi, long considered one of the most successful traders on Capitol Hill, has once again drawn attention thanks to her highly profitable investment in Nvidia.

Pelosi’s financial disclosures show that her $5 million investment in Nvidia, made on November 22, 2023, is now worth around $21.5 million following the latest rally in the company’s stock.

Her $16 million profit equals 91 years of congressional salary, based on the annual pay of $174,000 for a member of Congress.

Nvidia’s shares surged after the U.S. President announced plans to discuss Nvidia’s AI-powered Blackwell processors with Chinese President Xi Jinping, potentially paving the way for a new export deal.

As a result, the chipmaker became the first company ever to reach a $5 trillion market capitalization following the sharp rise in its stock price.

Additionally, during the Nvidia GTC technology conference, CEO Jensen Huang made several major announcements, including a $1 billion investment in Nokia, a partnership with Eli Lilly to develop AI-powered pharmaceutical tools, and collaboration with Lucid Motors to advance autonomous driving technologies.

Currently, Nvidia shares are trading at around $205, up about 2% over the past 24 hours, and nearly 50% higher on the weekly chart.
