NVIDIA Quarterly Revenue Exceeds Expectations at More Than $81 Billion

  • NVIDIA reported revenue of $81.6 billion for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027.
  • The company’s net income increased by 211% year-over-year.
  • The data centre segment generated a record $75.2 billion in revenue.

NVIDIA released its financial report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, which ended on 26 April 2026. The company reported strong growth in key indicators amid high demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centres.

According to the report, NVIDIA generated $81.6 billion in operating revenue, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $79.18 billion. This represents an 85% increase compared with the same period last year, when revenue stood at approximately $44 billion.

The company’s operating income rose 147% year-over-year to $53.5 billion. At the same time, NVIDIA’s operating expenses increased to $7.6 billion, up 52% compared with the previous year.

Net Income More Than Tripled

In the report, the company also disclosed a sharp increase in net income. Quarterly net profit reached $58.3 billion under GAAP standards. This was 211% higher than during the same period a year earlier.

In addition, revenue from the data centre segment reached a record $75.2 billion in the first quarter, rising 21% quarter-over-quarter and 92% year-over-year.

It is worth noting that GAAP refers to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, which public companies must follow to ensure transparent and standardised financial reporting.

Non-GAAP metrics are adjusted financial indicators that companies additionally publish to explain the impact of one-off or atypical factors on business performance.

In addition, NVIDIA increased its quarterly dividend from $0.01 to $0.25 per share. Payments will be made on 26 June 2026 to shareholders registered as of 4 June.

As part of its updated financial guidance, NVIDIA expects revenue of approximately $91 billion in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. However, the company does not include potential revenue from its Chinese data centre segment in this forecast.

Earlier reports also indicated that the United States approved the sale of NVIDIA H200 chips to ten companies in China.
