Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson says the crypto market is experiencing its worst period in the last 15 years

Cardano ($ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson, in a speech addressing negative sentiment in the cryptocurrency sector, stated that the industry is currently experiencing its worst period in the past 15 years. Hoskinson argued that the way out of this situation is to become better and different from others, and to give people a positive reason to act.

In his speech, Hoskinson said that there is currently little hope in the cryptocurrency space, stating:

“Right now there is very little hope in the cryptocurrency space. Maybe you’ve noticed — I don’t know — but this is the worst sentiment in the history of crypto since I started working in this field more than 15 years ago.”

Emphasizing the need for individual and collective efforts to overcome this negative atmosphere in the sector, Hoskinson continued:

“The way out of this situation is to become better and different, to give people a reason to feel good. It starts with ourselves, with our own initiatives. It’s about how we govern ourselves and how we work together. The governance tools we have give us enormous opportunities, but they do not solve the problem. It still requires people to come together and want to do it.”

Hoskinson also stated that 2026 could become a decisive turning point, saying:

“If this is our setback, we will decisively end this year in the strongest way in history. But more importantly, we will finish the year as standard-bearers, pioneers of a new cryptocurrency space. It will be a space driven not by cynicism, not by pessimism, but by optimism and action. A place where people believe that together we can achieve great goals.”
