ChatGPT-5 Named Two XRP Competitors for Investment in 2026
Thanks to some regulatory successes over the past year, XRP has finally moved from years of consolidation below $1 to new highs around $4.
Despite regulatory clarity, the token faces several serious competitors that are likely to attract investor interest in the future.
OpenAI’s latest AI model, ChatGPT-5, highlighted two assets, including the cryptocurrencies Stellar (XLM) and Algorand (ALGO).
Stellar (XLM)
Stellar (XLM) is a platform focused on low-cost international transfers. Recently, Stellar has shown growth momentum, and analysts suggest that broader adoption could drive the cryptocurrency’s value higher.
According to ChatGPT, integration with remittance services and decentralized finance applications makes it a strong player in the payments market. However, the small ecosystem size and sensitivity to overall crypto market cycles were identified as potential risks.
One of the most notable integrations was its partnership with Paxos and stablecoin projects to support tokenized assets worth $3 billion by year-end (with partners including Franklin Templeton and WisdomTree).
In 2025, Stellar experienced a surge in popularity thanks to a strategic agreement with MoneyGram, PayPal, and Mastercard, which simplified cross-border payments and expanded the DeFi ecosystem.
At the time of publication, XLM was trading at $0.36, up more than 3% over the past 24 hours.
Algorand (ALGO)
Algorand (ALGO) is a layer-1 blockchain designed for low-fee transactions. Its developers emphasize micropayments and institutional use, with upgrades planned for 2025–2026.
In terms of price dynamics, ALGO has long traded largely in tandem with the broader crypto market. At the time of publication, it was priced at $0.21, having gained more than 2.6% in the past 24 hours.
In June 2025, the Algorand Foundation announced a partnership with Paycode to develop secure digital payment infrastructure, focused mainly on offline access, in Ghana, Zambia, and Mozambique.
ChatGPT noted that strategic partnerships and on-chain payment products support Algorand’s potential, though competition from other blockchain networks and implementation challenges could hinder its outlook.
