Over the Last 30 Days, Tether Freezes $515 Million in Cryptocurrency
Tether, one of the largest stablecoin issuers in the world, has frozen $USDT worth approximately $515 million over the last 30 days in the Ethereum and Tron networks.
According to data from the "$USDT Freeze Tracker" service provided by BlockSec, the company blocked access to assets belonging to hundreds of blocked wallet addresses.
As of May 7, 2026, the data reveals that Tether added a total of 371 addresses to its blacklist across the Ethereum and Tron networks.
Out of these, 329 addresses are on the Tron network, and 42 are on the Ethereum network. The total value of frozen assets is estimated at approximately $514.69 million.
The data also showed that the majority of frozen $USDT resides on the Tron network. Approximately $505.92 million in $USDT is frozen on Tron, while around $8.77 million is frozen on Ethereum.
Real-time monitoring platform BlockSec also shows that the total number of addresses blacklisted has reached 376. Of these, 333 are in the Tron network, and 43 are in the Ethereum network.
Previously, Tether blacklisted addresses suspected of involvement in illegal activities, sanctions violations, fraud, and money laundering, freezing the corresponding assets in $USDT.
