NVIDIA and IREN Sign $3.4 Billion Deal for 5 GW AI Infrastructure

NVIDIA and IREN have announced a strategic partnership to scale next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Under the agreement, the companies plan to deploy up to 5 GW of AI power, and have signed a five-year contract worth $3.4 billion to support NVIDIA’s internal AI workloads.

Deal Details

According to the companies' announcement, IREN will provide NVIDIA with managed AI cloud services for research and internal AI projects. This includes not only access to GPUs but also a full infrastructure solution with orchestration and cluster management in collaboration with Mirantis.

The contract will be supported by Blackwell systems with air cooling, which will be deployed for about 60 MW in IREN data centers in Childress, Texas.

Partnership to Scale AI Computing

As part of the broader partnership, NVIDIA and IREN also agreed to jointly deploy AI factories based on NVIDIA’s DSX architecture. The companies expect the Sweetwater campus in Texas to be a key site, with 2 GW of capacity.

Additionally, IREN provided NVIDIA with a five-year option to purchase up to 30 million shares of the company at $70 per share. As a result, NVIDIA may invest up to $2.1 billion, contingent upon regulatory approvals and other conditions.

CEO Statements

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated:

“AI factories are becoming foundational infrastructure for the global economy. Large-scale deployment of such systems requires deep integration across the entire stack — computing, networks, software, energy, and operations. IREN has the scale and infrastructure expertise required.”

Other IREN Projects

This new partnership is another significant contract for IREN in the AI space. In November 2025, the company announced a five-year agreement with Microsoft worth $9.7 billion to provide cloud-based AI infrastructure.

ChatGPT, Grok and Claude Predict Where Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana Could Be by December 31

2026 has been a difficult period for the cryptocurrency market: since the start of the year, each of the five largest crypto assets by market capitalisation has posted double-digit losses. To understand where the market may head next, we asked several leading modern artificial intelligence (AI) models to forecast the year-end prices of $BTC, $ETH, $BNB, $XRP and $SOL. Their answers were, to put it mildly, intriguing.

The AI Market Is Changing: ChatGPT Is Losing Its Advantage

ChatGPT’s share of web traffic is gradually declining, while competitors continue gaining audience share. All of this is happening precisely at a time when businesses are increasingly beginning to look beyond OpenAI. For a long time, the word ChatGPT was almost synonymous with artificial intelligence. But now that association is becoming harder to defend.
