FalconX: Hyperliquid Surpasses Ethereum in Trading Volume as Institutional Capital Flows Increase

  • According to FalconX, Hyperliquid has become a major liquidity hub for hedge funds and institutional investors.
  • Hyperliquid is attracting growing attention due to its around-the-clock market access.

Joshua Lim, Head of Markets at FalconX, stated that Hyperliquid has become one of the most liquid trading venues in the cryptocurrency market. Demand for its services from hedge funds and institutional investors continues to grow as capital flows out of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Demand for Hyperliquid products has increased as investors search for opportunities beyond the largest cryptocurrency markets.

According to Lim, assets such as the HYPE token—which is widely viewed as a value-accruing and revenue-sharing asset—benefit from exceptionally high liquidity.

Assets like HYPE have very strong liquidity. They are easy to trade. On some days, HYPE may even be more actively traded than Ethereum.

Large market participants are increasingly allocating capital to emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and decentralized trading infrastructure rather than concentrating solely on major cryptocurrencies.

Altcoins are seeing strong trading activity. That is where speculative capital is flowing. Projects such as HYPE, Zcash (ZEC), and Venice (VVV) are attracting interest. AI-related tokens are performing particularly well.

According to Lim, Hyperliquid’s appeal extends beyond its native token ecosystem. Hedge funds are increasingly using the platform’s derivatives products because they provide continuous 24/7 access to markets.

The platform has also expanded beyond cryptocurrency trading by introducing products tied to commodities, prediction markets, and tokenized equities, further strengthening its position among institutional participants.
