SpaceX Moves Another $134 Million in Bitcoin to New Wallets
According to data from Arkham Intelligence, Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX transferred Bitcoin worth $133.7 million on Friday. This marks the second major transfer in less than a week.
On Tuesday, SpaceX moved approximately $268.5 million in Bitcoin, which was its first significant transfer since July. Arkham data indicates that SpaceX currently holds around 6,970 BTC, valued at roughly $770 million.
Some analysts suggest that SpaceX is simply consolidating its Bitcoin holdings, moving funds from older wallet addresses to newer, more secure ones.
In mid-2022, SpaceX reportedly reduced its Bitcoin reserves by about 70%, likely triggered by the broader market turmoil caused by the Terra-Luna collapse and the FTX bankruptcy. Since then, Arkham data shows that SpaceX has not made any new Bitcoin acquisitions.
Musk’s other company, Tesla, also sold most of its Bitcoin holdings in 2022. Currently, according to Arkham, Tesla holds 11,509 BTC worth approximately $1.24 billion.
