Cryptocurrency Staking Solana ETFs Expected to Attract $6B in First Year in the US

The first American staking Solana ETFREX-Osprey SOL + Staking ETF (SSK) — launched on July 2, 2025. Today, October 28, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) joined it on the NYSE.

A New Era of Staking Products

Bitwise BSOL provides 100% direct exposure to SOL with the goal of staking all assets to earn approximately 7% annual yield. The fund starts with zero fees for the first three months for the first $1B in assets.

According to Bitget chief analyst Ryan Lee, the approval of staking Solana ETFs is a transformational milestone. These new products could attract $3–6 billion in new capital into Solana in the first year.

REX-Osprey already distributes monthly staking rewards, with the first payout on July 30, 2025. The staking feature provides passive income to holders, attracting more institutional capital into the altcoin sector.

Expansion of Altcoin ETFs

Tomorrow, October 29, Grayscale plans to convert its Solana Trust into an ETF. Additionally, this week sees the launch of spot ETFs for Litecoin and Hedera from various issuers, including Canary Capital.

New cryptocurrency ETFs can push underlying altcoins to all-time highs. For Bitcoin, ETFs accounted for about 75% of new investment when the cryptocurrency returned to $50,000 on February 15, less than a month after the debut of spot BTC ETFs on January 11.

Institutional Adoption of Altcoins

Solana moves into the “major league” alongside two leading cryptocurrencies, strengthening institutional adoption of the altcoin market overall.

“Beyond Solana itself, this step signals broader adoption of altcoins within yield-generating compliant structures, channeling new capital into DeFi, tokenization of real assets, and multi-asset ETFs,” Lee explained.

The historic launch of US spot BTC ETFs attracted $36.2B in the first year, while US spot Ethereum ETFs gathered $8.64B in year-one trading.

The launch of staking Solana ETFs opens a new chapter for altcoins on traditional markets, combining spot exposure with staking yield as an attractive tool for institutional investors seeking stable returns in crypto.
