Peter Schiff Compared the U.S. and China’s Approaches to Bitcoin

According to Peter Schiff, U.S. authorities are misallocating capital and resources by focusing on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies instead of developing domestic industry and strategic reserves.

“Trump said that he believes in cryptocurrencies and wants to make the United States the ‘bitcoin capital of the world,’ because, according to him, if the United States does not do it, China will. While we are spending capital and resources and harming the economy, they are building factories and buying gold,” the economist noted.

In his view, China is demonstrating a more pragmatic approach by focusing on tangible assets and manufacturing, which makes the country’s strategy more sustainable in the long term.

He also pointed out that in the current economic environment, U.S. investors should pay attention to portfolio diversification, including real assets and precious metals, rather than excessively concentrating on volatile digital currencies.

Earlier, Peter Schiff urged bitcoin investors to reconsider the rationale for investing in cryptocurrencies amid rising prices of gold and silver.
