Sei Wallet to be integrated into millions of Xiaomi smartphones
According to a joint statement, owners of new Redmi Note, Poco, and fourteenth-generation Xiaomi smartphones, as well as future models, will be able to access most decentralized Web3 applications without installing anything additional.
Users will have access to cryptocurrency storage and transfers, payment for goods and services in Xiaomi stores — including smartphones and electric scooters — using stablecoins, as well as direct access to most decentralized applications, from games to financial services.
The first stage of the project is scheduled for early 2026. It will be launched for users in Hong Kong and the European Union. India, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa will join next. Priority and rollout order will be given to regions where Xiaomi mobile devices hold a 20%+ market share.
Earlier, cybersecurity experts from Ledger reported that the MediaTek chip installed in Solana Mobile crypto-oriented smartphones has an unfixable hardware vulnerability. According to researchers, it allows attackers to gain full control over the mobile device and the owner’s digital assets.
