Web3 Laboratory Launched in Ukraine in Collaboration with Binance
The cryptocurrency exchange Binance, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Lviv IT Cluster, has announced the launch of the Web3 Sustainability Laboratory — a national initiative aimed at developing blockchain technologies, investments in innovations, and Ukraine's digital transformation.
The project includes a grant fund of up to $500,000 to support developers, students, veterans, and entrepreneurs working on Web3 solutions.
The program is being implemented in collaboration with the Web3 Institute, which will provide expert support, mentorship, and project validation.
Grants, Mentorship, and Focus on the Web3 Economy
As part of the initiative, funding of up to $25,000 per project will be provided, focused on early-stage product development that can enhance the country's economic and digital resilience.
Key opportunities for participants:
- Financial grants for Web3 and digital solutions;
- Mentorship from Ukrainian and international experts;
- Support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and AI Sandbox, aligned with state priorities;
- Integration with the technology ecosystem through the Lviv IT Cluster.
Projects will undergo a combined selection process, including public voting, to ensure transparency and alignment with real user needs.
Binance's regional manager, Kirill Khomyakov, noted:
"The Web3 Sustainability Laboratory will not only accelerate the adoption of Web3 but will also help strengthen Ukraine's digital resilience through education, mentorship, and targeted financial support."
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes the strategic role of technologies. Acting Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Alexander Borniakov, stated, "Ukraine is moving towards reasonable technological self-sufficiency" with the goal "to create its own innovations with global export potential," as such "technologies enhance the security of state and business solutions — this is critical in the context of war."
Meanwhile, the head of the Lviv IT Cluster's supervisory board, Svyatoslav Kavetsky, spoke about the program's prospects for young people, offering them the opportunity "to unlock their entrepreneurial potential and develop key business skills."
Max Semenchuk, the program director of the Web3 Institute, emphasized:
"The Web3 Sustainability Laboratory is an opportunity to turn research ideas into real products."
It is worth noting that the laboratory's launch is part of a broader strategy for the development of AI and the digital economy. For example:
- The government is actively developing the Sandbox project for AI and blockchain startups, as well as other innovation support tools;
- Recently, Ukrainians chose the name for the national large language model — "Syayvo," which was supported by over 22,600 voting participants.
