The Terms of a Potential Peace Agreement Between the US and Iran Have Been Revealed
American media outlet Axios shared details of a potential agreement currently being discussed between the United States and Iran.
According to the report, the parties plan to extend the current ceasefire for another 60 days and hold comprehensive negotiations during this period on energy, maritime trade, and the nuclear programme.
According to the draft agreement, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, while the United States would provide certain sanctions relief measures to facilitate Iranian oil exports to international markets.
It was also suggested that the Washington administration could lift the blockade on Iranian ports and take steps to facilitate the sale of Iranian oil.
According to available information, the draft agreement also includes Iran’s commitment never to develop nuclear weapons.
Axios reported that the Tehran government, through intermediaries, sent an oral message to the United States expressing readiness to compromise on restrictions related to uranium enrichment activities.

On the other hand, Iranian media denied several claims made by Western sources.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency stated that reports broadcast by Saudi television channels claiming that “Iran proposed suspending uranium enrichment above 3.6% for 10 years” were inaccurate.
Fars News Agency, which is close to the Iranian government, responded to a report by The New York Times claiming that “Trump released Israel from obligations under the agreement.”
The report stated that the final version of the agreement would include a commitment by the United States and its allies not to attack Iran or its allies, in exchange for Iran promising not to carry out pre-emptive strikes against the United States and its allies.
Therefore, Fars described claims that Israel was excluded from the agreement as “groundless.”
According to Tasnim, the agreement covers not only Iran’s nuclear programme but also efforts to end regional conflicts.
Accordingly, the goal is to complete processes aimed at ending the war in Lebanon and removing restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days.
A separate 60-day timeframe has reportedly been allocated for nuclear negotiations.
Iranian media also stated that even if a possible agreement is reached, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will not immediately return to pre-war conditions.
Accordingly, the number of ships passing through the strait is expected to gradually recover to pre-war levels only within 30 days.
Another issue highlighted by Tasnim involved the withdrawal of American troops from regions surrounding Iran.
The report stated that the Tehran administration demanded that Washington commit to reducing its military presence in the region as part of any potential agreement.
