Breaking News: Developments in U.S.–Iran Talks — Latest and Insider Updates
As nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran enter a new phase, notable developments have emerged on both the diplomatic front and in energy markets following recent contacts between the sides.
Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi announced “significant progress” in the U.S.–Iran talks, concluding today’s meetings. He stated that negotiations will resume as soon as possible after consultations in both capitals. He also confirmed that technical-level discussions will take place next week in Vienna.
Iranian state television reported that vehicles carrying the U.S. delegation left the negotiation area after the meetings concluded.
However, according to Israel-based outlet i24NEWS, citing sources close to the nuclear talks in Geneva, significant disagreements between the United States and Iran remain. The report noted that differences persist and that the process is “far from optimistic.”
Following the announcement of “significant progress,” the initial reaction in energy markets was negative. Futures contracts for WTI and Brent crude fell after the Omani foreign minister’s statement.
